Bryan hold degrees from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and Southern
Illinois University at Carbondale. After being an inner city school teacher for fifteen
years, Bryan switched careers to become an industrial coffee roaster which allows him
to better focus on his family and poetry. His first book Fish Kite was published in 2018
by Cyberwit Publishing. He is also the editor at the Living Senryu Anthology and is the
current Midwest Regional Coordinator for the Haiku Society of America.
