David E LeCount is a writer and teacher who lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. On his small ranch, he has raised geese, dogs, horses, one cow and many other livestock. He received his BA from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks; he also received his MFA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is the recipient of a NEA Creative Writing fellowship. In addition he has done consulting for Stanford University’s Center For Educational Research.
He has published two books on writing and six books of haiku. He has received a Grand Prize from the Modern Haiku Society of Japan, and has addressed the World Haiku Festival in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. His prize-winning haiku have been published in Japan, USA, China, England, and Romania.
He seeks to express the magical delight in small moments and simple joys.
