PETER NEWTON's haiku, senryu, tanka, haibun and other short poems have appeared in a variety of online and print journals, including Acorn, The Adirondack Review, Atlanta Review, bottle rockets, Frogpond, Contemporary Haibun Online, Modern Haiku, Prairie Schooner, The Heron's Nest, Notes from the Gean, Modern English Tanka, Shamrock, 3-Lights and tinywords. He lives in Winchendon, Massachusetts and has spent the past 23 summers in Ripton, Vermont where he works at the Front Desk of The Bread Loaf School of English and The Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. He adds: "I write haiku to learn how to write better haiku. The sculptor, Henry Moore, said: 'Your life's work is that which you find impossible.' Somehow, I know I'll spend my life attempting haiku. Trying to chronicle the perfect moments."
