Arvinder Kaur ,an author,translator ,poet, is an Associate Professor in English literature and Media Studies at Post Graduate Government College for Girls ,Chandigarh,India..Her translation of letters exchanged between noted Punjabi writer Amrita Pritam and her painter companion Imroz, entitled ‘ Amrita and Imroz: In The Times Of Love and Longing’ was published in 2009.Her first book of haiku in Punjabi ‘ Nimolian’ appeared in 2013. She writes haiku for peace and to connect with her inner being through Nature. As a student of literature she was fascinated by ‘epiphanies’ and says that when i chanced upon haiku it was love at first sight for here i found a manifestation of the epiphanies that are a sum total of life ” She says haiku are ”little pieces of my soul”. Her haiku have been published in Frogpond,The Heron’s Nest, Mainichi newspaper,A hundred gourds,Prune juice,Creatix amongst others. She got an honourable mention in the 18’th Mainichi haiku contest and her work has also been included in Red Moon Anthology ‘ Big Data’ She is one of the founder editors of a bilingual journal ‘Wah’ . She lives in Chandigarh with her family.
