Barry George grew up with nature and poetry in the town and country wilds of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and also lived for a time in Key West, Florida. He finds Philadelphia, home for almost 25 years now, a great window on both people and “nature.” Drawn to haiku as a way to give attention and expression to immediate perceptions, he enjoys exploring a variety of senses, emotions, and subjects in the haiku and senryu forms. He is currently studying poetry in the brief-residency Creative Writing MFA program at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky
