Brad Bennett teaches elementary school in the Boston area. He has taught haiku to children for almost twenty years and every year he has led a class “Haiku Writing Party” inspired by a children’s biography of Issa. In addition, Brad has led haiku walks for adults at the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge and Thoreau Farm, the birthplace of Henry David Thoreau, both in Concord, Massachusetts. Brad is a member of the Alewife Brook Haiku Group and the Boston Haiku Society. His haiku and senryu have been published in a variety of print and online journals and magazines and some of them have won awards in haiku contests.
Brad loves the challenge of presenting two concrete images in one relationship and hoping it resonates with the reader. The “way of haiku” certainly helps him get out of his head and into the world!
