Dee Evetts was born in England in 1943. After dropping out from Cambridge in his second year, he traveled widely as a teacher and carpenter, both in Europe and North America. In 1991 he settled in New York City, where he started the Spring Street Haiku Group, while continuing to earn his living as a carpenter and cabinetmaker. In 2002 Evetts moved to Winchester in Virginia, where he spent 15 years working as a bookbinder specializing in protective enclosures. In 2019 he returned to England, where he lives once again in Cambridge, and continues to write.
