Hannah Mahoney fell in love with haiku as a child through the picture book In a Spring Garden, with luminous illustrations by Ezra Jack Keats. Decades later, she has circled back and has been an avid student of haiku since 2011. Her work has appeared in a variety of print and online journals and been recognized with a few awards and honorable mentions. She writes in other poetic forms as well. She lives in Cambridge, Mass., and works in children’s publishing.
