Nathanael Tico was born, raised and still resides in San Francisco. He began exploring haiku in 1998 and with the encouragement and tutelage of his father, haiku poet Tom Tico, saw his work first published in 2003 in Frogpond. Recent work can be found in journals such as Modern Haiku, Frogpond, The Heron’s Nest, Acorn, Bottle Rockets, Akitsu Quarterly, tsuri-dōrō, Mariposa, Kingfisher, Blithe Spirit, Presence, Hedgerow, Seashores, and elsewhere – including in pill bottles at The Poetry Pharmacy UK. Work has also been included in anthologies by Red Moon Press and Bottle Rockets Press as well upcoming in The San Francisco Haiku Anthology: The Next Thirty Years (2024).
