paul m. is the pen name of Paul Miller, an internationally awarded and anthologized poet. Modern Haiku, the longest running haiku journal in the western hemisphere, calls his work “cutting edge” and “a strong voice in the development of an American model of haiku.” The naturalist John Muir wrote that “When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything in the universe.” Similarly, paul m. uses the short poem to examine how he is hitched to the universe. He is a two-time winner of the Haiku Society of America’s national Merit Book Award. His latest book “Called Home” is available from Red Moon Press. Professionally, he is the controller of a national brokerage firm located in Boston, so naturally he is the Treasurer of the Haiku Society of America, the Haiku Poets of Northern California, and Haiku North America. He is also currently the book review editor for Modern Haiku. He has a bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Psychology and a master’s degree in English. He is a native Californian who makes his home in Rhode Island with his wife Mary Catharine.
