In 2022, Susan Yavaniski had the good fortune to stumble into a local haiku workshop led by poet John Stevenson, and thus began a journey into the world of haiku and Japanese short form poetry.

Invited to join the 25-year-old Route 9 Haiku Group in 2024, she has come to treasure her monthly meetings with John and fellow poets Yu Chang, Tom Clausen, Mary Stevens, and Shawn Blair.
